We (management committee chairman, resident manager, myself) meet with i-CLUB’s GM at the club Friday 28 October 17:30.
We enquire why the soundproofing the club says it installed seems ineffective in stopping bass and sounds reaching our property, reiterating that GM had mentioned at our first meeting with him at the club on Monday 29 August 2011 that double glazing would be installed along the glass wall facing our development.
GM says he has documents from sound specialists that he will make available to us, stating that the soundproofing is effective. However, when we ask to see the double glazing, he seems uncomfortable and is reluctant to show us. With further questioning, he admits that in fact double glazing has not been installed. It seems that quotes were felt to be too expensive, and therefore double glazing was omitted. It becomes clear why our SMS questions regarding the club’s new soundproofing are never answered.
GM asks us for the next 3 nights (Fri 28, Sat 29, Sun 30 Oct) to show that he can keep sound levels low enough that we are not bothered by it. We agree to allow him and the club the 3 nights.
The documents GM mentions are yet to be seen by any of us.
