I am writing to inform you that while it seems there have been some attempts by the i-CLUB to reduce the volume levels of live band vocals and bass, the fact remains that without completely effective soundproofing, this problem remains unresolved.
Overall, there has been a noticeable enough drop in the amount of perceivable bass. I must clarify this by stressing that this is only the situation on my floor. What may seem mild on my floor, my neighbours on higher floors appear to perceive as much more intense.
The night of Friday 06 Jan - Saturday 07 Jan was not good. In fact, it was so loud at 01:58 I could actually hear a voice on the mic singing ‘Happy Birthday to you’. You will recall the club’s published opening hours on Friday are until 02:00. I had to text GM to turn down the sound at 02:16.
Whilst the night of Saturday 07 Jan - Sunday 08 Jan was relatively mild compared to the horror of previous weeks and months, the club chose to increase the strength of their sound output from just before 02:00am which woke me. Prevented from sleeping, I decided to observe what time the club actually shut down. You will recall the club’s published opening hours on Saturday/Sunday are until 03:00. Music did not stop until 03:30.
So it seems the situation is now entirely in the control of the club. They choose whenever they want to ‘pump up the volume’, amply demonstrated by the fact that they seem more than capable of keeping the volumes low enough early in the week.
[General Manager, Commercial Leasing & Sale, Mah Sing Group], I am as tired of this as I’m sure you’re tired of hearing from me. I hope once again that your organisation can do something more concrete than the proverbial smack on the i-CLUB’s wrist. Also, a response would be nice. I would be most interested to know what steps the Mah Sing Group are taking or have taken to address this.
