On Friday 30 December 2011, I arrived home from a week long holiday to experience a relatively peaceful night at home. Although bass could be heard from the i-CLUB, it was soft and muffled. Not completely gone, you understand, but soft enough that I managed to fall asleep, although I had to text GM to turn it down at 00:52.
On Saturday, New Year’s Eve, the situation was very different. CX and I texted GM starting at 00:57, until at least 01:34, asking him to turn the volume levels down but to no avail.
Last night Sunday 01 January 2012, I texted GM at 23:26 to inform him that bass had been heard for the past hour. There was some improvement after that text.
In all this, I have not had any response from GM.
The i-CLUB seems to have augmented their soundproofing although without confirmation from the establishment I cannot be sure. However, it has not been an improvement. The incessant rhythmic beat of bass is much more muffled now, but in its place is a deep almost constant hum, at its worst on Sat/Sun New Year’s Eve.
I understand you have had a letter from our joint management committee, copied to Tan Sri Dato’ Sri [Group Managing Director/Group Chief Executive], the Mayor of Kuala Lumpur, the Director General of DBKL, and DBKL’s Planning department. I shall be writing to them all again.
The i-CLUB situation is far from resolved.
