I wrote to you a while back regarding the annoying noise level being generated by the i-CLUB, the tenant of the penthouse level of Mah Sing’s The Icon on Jalan Tun Razak.
Having suffered through most of this August, we had some respite lately with, while not ideal, at least substantially minimised noise levels. The club seemed responsive to our complaints, and we were informed their soundproofing would be installed by mid September, which they appear to have confirmed on Wed 21 September.
Since Saturday 24 September however, deep consistent bass was heard again. Although nowhere as bad as the August levels, I hope you can appreciate how annoying it is when the constant thump thump thump interferes with watching television, or putting kids to bed, or just trying to relax at home. Clearly the soundproofing doesn’t work. That, or the club feels they can now turn the volume levels back up.
It becomes ludicrous when we are compelled to stay up to text the club’s managers to turn the volume down. Actually we have no choice - we can’t get to sleep anyway. I must be fair and say that one of the club’s staff usually responds and appears to try to accomodate our complaints. However, last night, there was no response whatsoever. Noise levels abated only after we hinted we would call the police.
I do not know if the volume crept up again later. I was too exhausted after three nights.
I hope this is something Mah Sing can bring up with the operator/owner/tenant.

Tks again for the feedback.
Mgmt had been monitoring the noise level
and occasionally brought it up to ICLUB if the problem persists.
I will be meeting them today to address the
problem.

I fully recognise their having to run a business and their stated attempt to improve/install soundproofing, but it is ridiculous when my neighbours and I have to bear the brunt of their apparent negligence. Instead of having a quiet evening at home and relaxing in time for bed, we have mobile phones on in anticipation of texting the club managers because if we don’t they don’t seem aware of the problem. Bad bad situation.
